We wish to extend our wholehearted congratulations to the five students from the University of Tennessee at Martin (UTM) College of Business and Global Affairs who took home top honors for winning the 11th national 2025 Conference of State Bank Supervisors (CSBS) Community Bank Case Study Competition.

The final competition results were announced by the CSBS in July. UT Martin’s team finished ahead of the University of Arkansas and Illinois State University, which finished second and third, respectively. The team will present its findings at the Community Banking Research Conference on October 7th and 8th at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. In addition, each winning team member will receive a $1,000 scholarship.

Through our friends at Carroll Bank & Trust as well as Mr. John Clark, Interim Director of the Dunagan Chair of Excellence in Banking at UTM, our firm is honored to support these students in their competition and pursuit of banking knowledge.

Based in West Tennessee with strong roots and a history of serving Tennessee banks, Sawyers & Jacobs LLC takes pride in supporting enterprising young scholars from the area, especially those who are as passionate about community banking as we are. Kudos to the UT Martin team for their commitment, enthusiasm, and contribution to community banking! We are proud of you!
